When is belmont stakes 2017

They were Irish War Cry had the lead from the start and was side-by-side with Meantime through the back stretch. It was about a half length lead through to the far turn. Tapwrit made a late run for Irish War Cry down the last furlong. They cleared Patch and Gormley quite well near the line.

Prior to the start of the race, Epicharis had to be scratched from the race. Obviously, this means a Triple Crown was not in play for the Belmont, but it was still an exciting race as always.

Earlier in the day, Songbird made her return to racing by comfortably winning the Ogden Phipps on the Belmont Stakes Day undercard. Songbird started her career with 11 wins in 11 races, but lost her last start seven months ago. She had a lot of hype going into Saturday and she delivered with a win in the Grade I stakes race.
