There is also now a strong emphasis on philosophy and pupils are encouraged to develop their reasoning skills. The pupils at Nairn Academy enjoy the subject as it gives them a chance to voice their own opinions about serious and everyday issues. Over time, these opinions should develop into informed views which will stand them in good stead for life, learning and work.

After all, as humans we make moral decisions on how to live on a daily basis; from choosing what to eat is it right to eat animals? Is our food ethically sourced? Should I car pool? This, so far, is all inside your head and quite often in short period of time. You then need to get it out by either talking to the class, or someone beside you, taking part in a discussion, or writing down your idea. We have developed this skills framework to move away from other taxonomies and to give pupils a genuine and meaningful experience in RMPS and a transparent roadmap on how we can all improve our thinking.

How much could I earn? RMPS and Philosophy score well across UK universities in these areas, more notably in student satisfaction surveys — they like our type of courses. RMPS and Philosophy both develop thinking skills that are attractive to employers. I feel like perhaps I could have concentrated elsewhere!
