I just read that pbs is doing a channel in spanish, I know its great that you reach the english speaking population, but there are so many latinas that speak only spanish that love to cook and would love a person like you teaching them. Have you thought of translating your book? I know there is interest for it.

I have few friends that even though they can understand english reading it is another story. I am a Colombian-American latina and have lived in the US for most of my life. Unlike you, I have not had the benefit of living in or even close to a latino community during this time.

A recent web favorite has been my recipe for Arepa de Huevo.. There seems to be a huge but latent desire out there for learning more about Colombian food and likely other latino foods going by the number of google hits I get for how to make this or that Colombian food.

I am so glad that you are on the national stage bringing latino food into all of our homes. Our food is all about comfort food and I think that our times call for food that makes us feel at home. To me, that would be a plate of Colombian beans, rice, chicharron, and platanos.

A side of hot chocolate would not hurt either! I hope you do decide to do a book in Spanish. I have a lot of friends in South America, I would love to give it as a present.
