Can you differentiate between the kicks of your baby or hiccups. Add a comment. Hey juliana, I dunno how far i'm correct but when ur baby gets hiccups its physically very evident.. Atleast in my case you can actually see ur stomach bouncing for the few seconds that the baby has hiccups.. As for the kicks they aren't so strong as yet to be physically seen from the outside but yes if someone places their hand on our stomach they will be able on feel the movements.

Another thing that i've noticed is sometimes it feels like the baby moves its head to one part of my tummy n when i place my hand on that part of my stomach its much harder than the other parts of my tummy n the kicking is always on the other side i feel the head mostly on the right side with the kicking happening on the left it feels kinda strange but wonderful at the same time..

As for the movements in the lower abdomen it confuses me as well coz to be honest i'm not suffering from gas troubles but i know there is some gas build up inside so its kinda difficult to guage if those fluttery movements i feel so low in the stomach are my baby's movements or gas! I'm 28 weeks too n my edd is 9th August!

Kicks r stronger den hiccups Hiccups r jst lyk heartbeat -- lyk u feel- Dhak dhak for a few sec or min N kicks r so strong u cn touch n feel d kick evn u cn see wen ur stomach goes ups n downs Whichever side i lie he or she gets shifted to the same side and starts kicking.. Bt ya it feels wonderful:- Adeline Hi everyone evenn I have the same feeling when I sleep on left side my baby moves on left n when I sleep on right it will shift to right.

Most of the movement r in night in day time I usually don't feel any kick.. Or else in after noon when I take a nap or lie on left side I do feel kicks. Juliana i used to be a li'l worried about my baby not moving sometimes.. I used to worry myself sick thinking if the baby is fine or not.. N then i would try keeping my hand on my stomach n then suddenly out of nowhere the baby would give me a reassuring kick to let me know that it's doing fine n probably just taking a day off from the extra movements..

But yeah its fun at times.. My baby seems a li'l social.. It kicks n moves around no matter who touches.. N yeah at times even i feel scared when the baby starts kicking when i'm on my side.. A tiny case of the hiccups in utero. Fetal hiccups are a quick, repetitive motion that you can tell is definitely coming from baby. In other words, fetal hiccups mean that baby is becoming neurologically developed enough to survive outside the womb, Ring says.

Which is definitely good news! La Porte explains that they can occur randomly and often, sometimes several times in a day. Ring suggests that changing positions, walking around and drinking water might work, since any new stimulus encourages baby to shift gears.

But the best way to deal with fetal hiccups? Simply embrace them. Trust your instincts. Never hesitate to contact your ob-gyn with questions or concerns.
